Masia Duch
Celebration of the 2005 grape harvest The 2005 grape harvest is in, apart from a few small terraces left to give meaning to this special day, but the machines and the grape pickers are at rest. A bright sunny day sees the culmination of another year’s work at Masia Duch. Hopes are high for this year’s harvest.

29th September 2005, Saint Michael’s day: a celebration which is connected with Masia Duch by specific references to links established between this archangel and the Tancat estate - on which the Masia stands - by the Carthusian monks. The monks of this order were famous for their cultivation of grapevines in France, and subsequently their establishment in the Priorat.

The service was followed by a meal prepared with local produce and, of course, washed down with wines from the estate, against the splendid backdrop of the historic building of Masia Duch. For dessert, a first: those present were able to taste the extraordinary muscatel which, together with a ranci-type wine, is shortly to be launched on the market under the evocative names of Escala d'Or and Castany, respectively.
