Looking for the reason is always finding out reality and Masia Duch’s reality can be found in our illusion and passion for the quality of wines, which was successfully transmitted by the maternal family in their vineyards from the beginning of the past century.
The paternal family contributed in the fact of elaborating oil from grape seeds, which is a multiple qualities oil which has proved basic in the cosmetics and dietetic industry.
With all these antecedents and the conjunction of some exceptional lands and a dream, a formation and information path was set out in the eighties, with visits to congresses, incursions in France and Italy, thoughtful reading and study of texts and specialized bibliography.
By being able to make use of this knowledge, together with the soil’s fertility and excellent weather, the virtual became daily life. Masia Duch could become real and the means to achieve it seemed within our reach. Some years had to pass before we were convinced the first 1989 vintage was a wine to be presented in public.
Total personality was achieved by the wine’s social introduction. We firmly believe we have a wine for very demanding palates, an unusual fondness for wine growing and a perfectionist spirit whose intention is to gradually keep surprising everyone.
