Technology: the best ally of limited production

El Priorat used to be one of Catalunya’s most depressed regions, having a very high agricultural cultivation abandonment rate, and a massive depopulation. This was its prospect about twenty years ago.

In 1985 we created an idea, developed a project and bet for new concepts in vine growing. Modernity was the base for this revolution, which has gradually taken over the national and international markets, to take place.

It was necessary to start almost from zero with clear and precise ideas and with the well done work as our motto, knowing how to manage in a noble wine activity. At the same time the building was being restored, the arduous task of refitting the Carthusians’ old terraces took place: their borders were rebuilt of stone and their current natural look was achieved with the minimum visual impact over an extraordinary region in terms of orography.

The following, and key element was to provide the facilities with the highest present technology both in the growing area and in the inside part of the Conreria’s old warehouses, whose outsides maintain their appearance in the past centuries. Inside everything has changed, but the construction’s master lines have been respected. Faint and solemn lights light our wine cellars and contrast with the stainless steel tubs, cement and noble wood.
